Weekend Warrior

After finally pulling myself out of bed yesterday I decided that I was going to finally hang up the shelves in the laundry room. I bought the shelving about 6 months ago, give or take a few months. In order to hang the new shelves I first had to take down the crappy old shelf. Upon taking down the shelf I noticed how dirty the walls were and not to mention the big wholes left in the wall from the old wire shelf. After staring at the gross looking walls for a minute I decided that I was going to paint the walls. Neal & I had discussed doing this way back when we bought the shelves, but never did due to the amount of work. I proceeded to take everything out of the laundry room. Now you might think that emptying a measly laundry room would be easy, but my laundry room is also the broom closet, food storage as well as cleaning supplies. By the time I emptied the laundry room, which also had laundry in it, my house was a disaster. (I should have taken pictures) Despite being distracted by the mess I focused on the task at hand. I finished painting and putting back what I could on the two shelves I installed 2 summers ago. I then proceeded to hang the rails for the new shelves, only to discover that I had the wrong screws. errrr After a trip to Lowels for the correct screws and a good nights sleep I succeeded in hanging the shelves. My laundry room is pretty! It is organized and looks A LOT less cluttered.
I was also able to take the time I needed, while waiting for paint to dry, to redo my "brag wall" I bought new shelves to house my diplomas (also about 6 months ago). With the new diploma I needed more shelves. I think it looks pretty good.
I was just glad to finally have the energy to do something productive after two weeks of being a bum.
PS I would have liked to add before, during and after pictures, but I didn't think of it until the job was finished. Isn't that the way it always works?
